Wolfville Winery tours are becoming very famous around the world. Some people didn’t even know something like Canadian wine existed before visiting Nova Scotia.

It is regarded as one of Canada’s most famous wine industries. It is located in the Annapolis Valley in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. You will find beautiful wineries, cider houses, breweries, diaries, and other tasty producers here. You must try Tidal Bay, Chardonnays, and Rieslings. The most popular of these three wines is Tidal Bay.

Where to Get Your Perfect Wine on Wolfville Winery Tours?

Due to Nova Scotia’s climatic conditions, wine production is focused on two types: whites and light reds.

Light reds, along with some Pinot noir, are available until now. You can also taste iced wine. Iced wine tastes very similar to dessert wine, although not as sweet. So here is the list of the best places you can visit in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.

1. Domaine de Grande Pre

The Domaine de Grande Pre is the oldest territory of the Wolfville and one of the most popular in Nova Scotia. Most importantly, it also comes under the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The side scenario of the place is unique. The views of the property and other surrounding regions are lovely. Two-time-a-day guided tours of the property are provided between May and October every year. You can also visit the beautiful grounds surrounding nearby Grande Pre Winery.

Based on visitor reviews, I must tell you that Grand Pre Winery’s best wine is Riesling, which has an unforgettable taste. Other reds and sparkling wines are also available here. If you love wines I’ll tell you two other best wines you can taste there- Pomme d’Or Ice Cider and Ice Wine. Both are lovely and tasty but not as sweet as dessert wines.

For a change, you can go down the road to Domaine de Grande Pre. You will reach the beautiful Tangled Garden. Here, the owner, Beverly McClure, prepares and produces some tasty things, such as jams, jellies, ice creams, etc.

2. Lightfoot and Wolfville Wines

The Lightfoot and Wolfville, Nova Scotia, is a newly opened winery.  Let me introduce you to the atmosphere inside.

The top ceiling at Lightfoot and Wolfville Wines provides a tremendous feeling and a great atmosphere. There is a large tasting room; you will feel the excellent lighting. There is also a huge outdoor seating area. Here, you can enjoy a delicious lunch and dinner. The wine-growing practices of this place are organic and biodynamic.

I know you want to ask for the best wines there. I will tell you this, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Riesling are the best wines. Lightfoot and Wolfville are very close to the Wolfville area, and you can easily walk there. The winery opens at 6 p.m. every day, although this time is a bit later than the others. This place is the best place to stop on your perfect winery day trip.

3. Luckett Vineyards

Want to have some exotic wines in the beautiful scenery, visit the Luckett Vineyards. It is located on the hill and provides a fantastic view of the Gaspereau Valley. You can find a traditional English theme at Luckett Vineyard. How can I forget to tell you about its popular features? You won’t believe that it includes only the British Telephone Box in Vineyard around the world. You can also make free calls from Luckett Vineyards all around North America. How’s that?

The names of the wines at Luckett Vineyard are exceptional and different from other wineries. Some famous wines they provide are Phone Box Red and Old Bill. Besides these two wines, I also recommend you to taste the Black Cab there.

4. L’acadie Vineyards

The L’acadie Vineyards is one of the premier sparkling wine producers in Nova Scotia. You can also see some sparkling roses and cider there.

5. Gaspereau Vineyards

Next on my list is the Gaspereau Vineyards. Do you know that it is the first winery in Gaspereau Valley? This is a boutique vineyard famous for its Riesling. They provide some of the best wines, including the most famous one, Tidal Bay. I must tell you some other wines available there, such as reds, roses, and maple, are also available except for the Tidal Bay. You can find a wonderful outdoor seating area at Gaspereau Vineyards Wolfville. There you can enjoy some exciting and entertaining views.

6. Blomidon Winery

Another best winery in Wolfville is Blomidon. They offered tasty Tidal Bay, Chardonnay, other reds, and sparkling wine. This winery is open every day for tasting purposes during the peak season. However, they also had a stand at Halifax Farmers Market.

7. Sainte Famille Wines

Another famous winery that I must include in my list is Saint Famille Wines. They prepare eight white grapes and four red ones. The L’acadie white is the most tasty and famous wine, and it is also award-winning. They produce the reddest wines compared to other wineries in the Wolfville area. They also make some tasty sparkling wines.

8. Planter’s Ridge

A post shared by Planters Ridge (@planters.ridge)

The Planter’s Ridge is not located precisely in Wolfville. Its primary location is in the Port Williams area. But you can go there by having a small car drive. You can see a fantastic tasting room and, most importantly, the high beam-based ceilings. There you will also enjoy some beautiful views.

I included this one in my list because they also provide tasty but expensive kinds of wines. Some famous wines are Tidal Bay, L’Acadie, Chardonnay, Riesling Plus and other reds and roses. The most popular and unique wine of Planter’s Ridge is Sparkling Mead. You can reach the Fox Hill Cheese House from Planter’s Ridge Winery. I suggest you visit this place and taste its wonderful chocolate milk. For food, you can visit the Noodle Guy at Port William. They have a good reputation in the market and provide quality food.

9. Avondale Sky Winery

The Avondale Sky Winery is the oldest vineyard in the territory, although it belongs to the newest wineries. It provides various tasty wines like sparkling, rose, ice, and small lots.

What Else Can You Explore There Other than Wine?

The NEW Wolfville Farmers

As Wolfville is a wine country, it is impossible to visit all the wineries, so the best thing you can do is visit the Wolfville Farmers Market on Saturday morning. There, you can find stalls of many wineries. The wineries open stalls to promote their business, and this is a great chance to taste various wineries’ wines at once. You can also taste other drinks and enjoy yummy food in the market.

This option runs four regular tours on set days of the week. They also offer private tours. However, most Wild Grape tours run from 11:30 to 4:40 p.m.
