For everyone who wants to explore downtown Vancouver on a visit, I recommend visiting Robson Street. You can go there with friends or family, and its eclectic charm will captivate you for sure!
I must say that Robson Street is a hidden gem for people who enjoy cozy cafes and fashion-adorning storefronts. Every step will surely give you a new adventure. So, what are the exciting things to enjoy here?
First, I want to give you a little intro to this street. This street was the oldest street in Vancouver and was formerly known as Robsonstrasse. On one side of Robson Street, you will find BC Place Stadium; on the other side, you will see Stanley Park, and most importantly, the popular shopping precinct lies between Robson Street—which is great for a shopaholic like me, haha!! Here, you can explore shops, dining to drink at, desired boutiques, fancy cocktail bars, and chain restaurants.
Another thing you will definitely enjoy is walking beside the local people. Some are on their way to the office, while some are going to watch the game, and some students are standing and lining outside the noodles shops.
1. Many Options for Drinks and Smoothies Available
If you get tired or need some refreshments, try Jogo Juice. No no! it’s not the only option for you. Many fresh juices and delicious smoothies are also available. You can also try more creamy ones, like Bliss and Super smoothies, prepared by combining four or more fruits or hip veggie smoothies. Moreover, you can also visit the cafe shops or the cocktail bars for a change.
2. The Canadian Crafts Shop is Excellent!!
Buy clothes, mugs, key chains, postcards, posters, and a few maple syrup bottles from this place, and why not? It is one of the most famous souvenir shops on Robson Street. Here, you can also shop top-class and amazing Canadian thematic gifts. They also keep products such as gorgeous paintings and First Nations artwork.
3. Shopping at Some Popular Brand Stores
If you are a shopaholic, let me tell you that Robson Street is your perfect destination. Catch your favourite brand showrooms there and make your day with luxurious shopping. Get high-fashion and trendy wear and other products from individual stores, like Zara, GAP, Armani Exchange, Victoria’s Secret, Sephora, Lululemon, ARC’TERYX, Roots, etc.
4. Visiting BC Place Stadium
Are you into sports? Then check out BC Place Stadium on Robson Street. Beginning from the east end of Robson Street, you will see sports fans visiting BC Place Stadium. Explore the BC Sports Hall of Fame, housed inside the stadium with great galleries, including those for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, the city’s professional team, and hometown heroes such as Terry Fox.
The sculptural tribute to Terry Fox is on the plaza just outside the stadium. If you go west along Robson for a short walk, you will pass the city’s Coliseum, which includes the Vancouver Public Library. After that, we can continue walking toward the iconic Vancouver Art Gallery, part of Robson Square. Right under the street, you will see a covered event space. This space hosts events like ballroom dancing during summer evenings and is a free public place for an ice skating rink during winter.
5. What About Food? That’s Something You Can’t Skip
Take a tour of Joe Fortress Seafood and Chop House, an award-winning restaurant located at the corner of Robson Street and Thurlow Street. It specializes in classic American cuisine and Pacific Northwest food products. It offers a variety of menus, including lunch and brunch, dinner, late night, and desserts.
If you love Indian food, you can explore Spicy 6 to taste some delicious food. It is a complete Indian Restaurant. Their Mustard Chicken Tikka, Tandoori Prawn, and Malai Tikka are so amazing that they will give you a vibe like sitting in India. The chef of Spicy 6 comes from Delhi, India. In addition to these Tandoori dishes, don’t forget to enjoy other curries made with Indian spices.
You can also try Forage, CinCin, Earls, and Menya Itto for some unique culinary experience.
Robson Street has unique cafes, tasty foods, and shopping places. It is a beautiful place to spend your vacation. I suggest you include all the places mentioned above when visiting Robson Street. Because I know if you miss visiting any of these places, you will surely regret it later.
