Saskatoon is a beautiful city situated along the South Saskatchewan River in Canada. It is rich in arts, culture, and heritage. With the most exquisite sceneries and expansive markets, Saskatoon attracts visitors from all over the world. I must add here that you can have this city on your list of must-visit places in Canada.

I will tell you the reason behind it. Saskatoon impresses its visitors in several ways, be it the culinary scene, historic sites, or art galleries. There are lots of attractions in the city to explore for tourists. So, if you are planning a trip to this city anytime soon, you should not miss out on the attractions that I will mention in this article.

1.ย Prairieland Park

One of my favourite places to visit for a day filled with adventures in Saskatoon isย Prairieland Park, in the exhibition neighbourhood of the city. It is a hub of events and attracts people to join, celebrate, and enjoy.

You can also plan an event of yours to be hosted by them. Be it some industry event forย business purposes, a fun ride for a seasonal vacation, live racing, an exhibition, or a tradeshow, everything is conducted very authentically.

The venue satisfies all the locals and visitors of different tastes and purposes. The food and other services provided are awesome, and it also provides a proper parking facility.

2. Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo

Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zooย is the only destination for animal lovers in Saskatoon. The park and the zoo feature aย nursery, gardens, heritage buildings, and a zoo.ย  So, if you also love to spot animals, this place will certainly entertain you.

And here is a little surprise for kids; guess what! It has a recreational area and a McDonaldโ€™s playground for kids to play and have lots of fun. It is also a good source of education and fun together for kids. a must-visit spot for families to know more about natural life.

Here you can experience the craft, food scene, diverse products, and people-watching simultaneously. Interact with local vendors who sell their local produce created by them from locally sourced goods. You can also purchaseย fresh and pure food items, vegetables, and bakery productsย if needed.

I must sat that Saskatoon farmers market is very budget-friendly and popular among tourists. And if you are there in winter holidays, you can be a part of special events organized on Christmas or New Yearโ€™s Eve.

4. Wanuskevin Heritage Park

This is the ultimate spot that serves something interesting to each visitor. You can walk around the exhibitions and art galleries displayed at the park or enjoy memorable hiking trails. They also arrange various educational programs, meetings, and events.

If you are a fan of Ukrainian culture or want to learn more about it, you must visit theย Ukrainian Museum of Canada.ย I recommend this because it not only entertains you but you get to learn a lot about their history and traditions.

Several permanent and temporary exhibits are there showcasing unique artworks, ceramics, textile work, paintings, and wood works depicting the history and heritage of Ukraine. There is also a library and archives for visitors to explore.

The name must be surprising to you. So, if you donโ€™t know about it let me tell you that Canadian Light Sourceย is the biggest research facility in Saskatoon. It is located at the University of Saskatoon.

The good news for science lovers is that it allows outsiders throughย the public onsite tours. If interested, you can learn in detail the history and contribution of scientists in different fields in this major research center. You can also be a part of their virtual tours to learn the minute details related to science.

7. Prairie Lily River Cruise

It takes one hour on the Prairie Lily cruise for sightseeing, the staff is very friendly and assures awesome services. Also, remember that you cannot carry any food items or drinks with you. They sell snacks and beverages on board only, dinner is also provided on the main deck of the cruise. You can plan any special gathering, meeting, or event on the cruise to have a beautiful and memorable experience.

8.ย Western Development Museumย (WDM)

I strongly recommend you to visit the WDM museum. You will also spot various interactive displays, galleries, and some theatre presentations. The displays and exhibits include cars, a display of old tractors and threshing machines, and artifacts.

This big museum has a huge collection of aroundย 80,000 artifacts. They have also designed a section that reveals the agricultural and scientific progress in the city. So, you can easily spend two to four hours there without getting bored.

If you are visiting the city in summer, you mustnโ€™t miss this opportunity to enjoy all the music and dance there. The festival starts every year in summer at the end of June and lasts ten days. It has become the prominent center for the promotion of Jazz music. I strongly recommend this because it is the largest Jazz festival in Canada.

Enjoy the high quality, live musical performances of well-known Jazz artists and emerging talents in the bright and colourful festive atmosphere.
