Sylvanus Pierson Jermain was the first President of the Inverness Club. He is the ‘father of public golf in Toledo’. As a symbol of admiration for his dedication and work, his statue was cast in 1928.

In fact, the statue was a 2-foot bronze statue. It is in the green area of the course. Certainly, the statue gained notoriety, as it was stolen 6 times!

In 1918, S. P. Jermain guided the first organized group of women golfers. Indeed they became the first Toledo Women’s District Golf Association.
